Scrap Metal Recycling in Salem, MA

scrap metal in salem ma

Salem is a town in Essex County, MA with a population of approximately 41,340 (2010). Salem is surrounded by Beverly, Danvers, Peabody, Lynn, Swampscott, and Marblehead.

Incorporated in 1629, Salem is perhaps known for the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. The Trials were inspiration of Arthur Miller’s novel, The Crucible. Witches can be found on the town’s police cars, and is the name of Salem High School’s sports teams.

Every fall, thousands of tourists flock to Salem to enjoy Halloween and witch-themed festivities. Downtown Salem is also known as a dining and shopping destination.

Salem has many points of interest on the National Register of Historic Places, including the House of the Seven Gables, Peabody Essex Museum, The Witch House, Salem Maritime National Historic Site, and the Gedney House.

A coastal town, Salem was an important seaport throughout much of its early history. In 2013, U.S. President Barack Obama declared Salem the birthplace of the U.S. National Guard.
